You identify most with being a “business owner.”
In the spectrum of being more of a “business owner” or a “gym owner,” shaking hands and kissing babies are not strengths you’d list on your LinkedIn profile. You are here to make things happen. Whatever processes or people are required, you’re going to figure out a way to ensure the revenue and membership continue to grow. You bring a lot of very important qualities to the table!
Here are your STRENGTHS:
Whether you have a background in business or you learned the hard way, you understand the importance of all the boring back-end stuff. You inherently know that meeting with your CPA and keeping the website updated will help grow your gym! You might even consider yourself an entrepreneur, where a lot of the skills you bring to the table can be easily applied to other business models. That’s exciting!
That being said, we want to make sure we’re not losing you to Excel spreadsheets.
Marketing, sales, retention…. you don’t need us to teach you about this stuff. Honestly, you could probably teach us a thing or two! But remember that your gym is not only a business, but it’s a community as well. People will come to your business because of the marketing campaigns you’ve developed, but they will stay because of the community. You don’t need to be Tony Robbins, but you do need to be smart in how your community is flourishing, even if it’s not you who is actively taking care of it.
